Samuel Had just gotten off of a video call with his parents. His mother had asked him when they could expect grandchildren, just like she had done every time they spoke. Samuel would usually just smile "Well, i need to find a girl worth settling down for."
His mother would always say "well, you need to slow down, to find her son."[/color]
Samuel was getting older but maybe it was the life he had chosen, that lead him to lead such a fast life. The only thing that mattered to him was the sky he was flying in, the place he was flying, and the tenth of a second ago. This night however Samuel, for the oddest of reasons, lied to his mother. He wasn't keen on doing that; he loved his parents but he was tired of seeing that sad look on his mother's face. As the words fell from his lips, he couldn't believe what he had said. Samuel told his mother he had found someone, he thought would be a wonderful match himself.
"Well mama, i may have found someone worth settling down for, she is a blond bombshell, and one hell of a pilot." He said to his mother when she asked about grand children, of course his mother being who she was, wanted a name. "Samantha, Casey" As he said the name he thought to himself: ' well, frak, what did i get myself into this time?' He couldn't believe that he said that; he only hoped that his mother would drop the topic at that.
Of course she couldn't let it go. She wanted to know everything about her, to the smallest detail. It made Sam excited to see the glimmer in her eye. He told her Samantha's rank and a general description of her, and what she was like. (as far as Samuel knew that is. The fact of the matter is that he didn't know her well at all). Of course, he played her up as more of a lady then she was, but hell, they would never meet so it didn't matter. Then came the worst news Samuel had heard since his Grandfathers passing: "Oh sweetie, that is wonderful, when can we speak with her?"
' well, I'll be damned' He thought to himself. Never in a thousand years had he thought out this plan. ( It had occurred to him after he said it that he should have planned for such an event, but he was flying by the seat of his pants. There was no time to think, he just had to make it up as he went.)
It's funny how such a small lie can turn into something so much bigger.
"Well, mama, i don't know exactly when you will be able to talk with her. I will see what her schedule looks like, and i will get back to you." 'FRAK, FRAK, FRAK!!!' he thought to himself. Samuel was going to have to dig pretty deep to figure this one out. Luckily for him they had a dinner party to attend that evening, so they had to cut the call short.
After their good byes Samuel needed a drink. Samuel walked to the Officers lounge ordered himself a virgin rum and coke and a bagel (its good thinking food, don't'cha know) and sat there and pondered what he was going to do.
