Suspected Cylon Activities Once the Cylons become active, this post will keep track of their activities both as a tool for you the players to follow along and keep things straight as well as for us to track how any IC investigation is going. Incident and Date Damage: Investigation: Suspect: ???

Claiming a Cylon Model As you can see from the opening post of this thread, there are (at least) eight Cylon models. For those of you who might need a refresher on BSG, these models are the "skinjobs". They look, feel, and act human yet deep down they are truly Cylon. They are not mere Androids like Data from Star Trek or the Terminator from... the Terminator. The differences between Cylon and Man have become nearly impossible to tell, requiring complex and time consuming processes to actually test and discover if one is or is not a Cylon posing as a human. In a nutshell, the Cylon skinjobs have two roles. First, they are expert infiltrators. In a war where the enemy is supposed to be eight feet tall, have a single red eye, and covered in chrome platting then it is easy to sneak around and generally sabotage things when you look human (at least until your secret is out and everyone knows the face of your model). Second, the Cylon skinjobs are the leaders of the entire Cylon race. They decide where the Basestars go, who the Raiders shoot, and whether or not the Centurions should stand there and awkwardly watch Baltar as he lies naked on that couch. Players who control a Cylon character can: RP blending in with humans either as part of our crew or through other narratives on arious ships or worlds across colonial space; RP (with the Staff's permission) sabotaging humanity; RP with other Cylons on Basestars, destroyed worlds, etc. and generally talk about galactic domination. Roger, shut up and get to the part where I get to be a CylonThere are two ways to play as a Cylon: 1) Create a character and get him/her approved. Once that's done you can request that your pre-existing character becomes a Cylon. The Staff will discuss and vote on it. 2) Start writing a character and while it is up for acceptance, let the Staff know you want it to be a Cylon. Again the staff will discuss it, but this time they might offer more advice for modifying your profile. Thus, you're more likely to get a new character accepted as a Cylon because any little issues that might hold you up can be altered. Now, there are also two ways to go about taking your request to the Staff: 1) Openly broadcast and even put in your application about how your character is a Cylon and you want to be Number X. This is perfectly fine so long as you want every single player to know and remove the potential secrecy element from the RP. 2) Sends a PM to the Staff and write your application so that it is not obvious your character is a Cylon. Also keep your IC threads written in the persona of just a regular person without mention of Cylon-y stuff, talk about resurrection, etc. This of course naturally limits how much you can RP, but it gives you the added bonus of sneaking around and potentially an insane reveal further down the road. (Before the reboot we had such a hidden Cylon for many many months who was behind many of the small issues around the ship and no one would have guessed who it was and if e ever did a reveal it probably would have blown minds.) So I've got an approved Cylon, now what?Whatever you want. Of course the most obvious role is stealth and mischief. You might also try and build relationships while hiding your Cylon nature. Some Cylons are also sympathetic to humanity so you can work that angle. If we get numerous Cylons you can start your own little threads. The only thing to remember is just not to do anything drastic without first getting Staff approval first. Just like a Viper Pilot can't suddenly decide twenty Basestars dropped out in front of our ship and now there is a huge battle, a Cylon player cannot just start "ruining" the plot by causing all kinds of mayhem. The Staff is here to make your RP experience the best it can be so most suggested mischief will be accepted and worked into the story, but just remember that you always have to ask and get approval first.

As I wait for Riley to be examined and hopefully approved, I'd like to make the intention of having her as a cylon.
Cylon Number Seven.
