Currency The Cubit is the standardized currency of the Twelve Colonies and from all appearances the only official currency in existence through the worlds. Cubits can be found in three different forms: - Coins - Coins presumably represent the smallest denominations of cubits and come in both gold and silver. Like many things in BSG, these coins are octagonal in shape. On the coin's obverse is the symbol of its colony of origin. On the reverse is the colonial insignia. In this way, cubits very much mirror the Euro and the ideas of Colonial Unification through a shared currency. Example
- Paper - For larger denominations, paper notes are used. Like the coins, the notes are fairly uniform but simultaneously have their own unique features to mark their colony of origin. Denominations include at least a 100, 500, and 1000 cubit note. Unlike coins (and most forms of BSG paper), paper cubits are perfectly square (or close to it). Example
- Electronic - It can safely be assumed that the Colonies are not dependent solely on tangible currency and notes of debt. Thus cubits are also stored and tracked electronically through a modern credit/debit system.

There is unfortunately no value easily equated to a cubit nor do we perfectly understand what little we do know about the cubit. For the sake of RP, we will use the following system: - Silver Coin - 1 Cubit
Gold Coin - 2 Cubits 10 Paper Note - 10 Cubits 20 Paper Note - 20 Cubits 50 Paper Note - 50 Cubits 100 Paper Note - 100 Cubits 500 Paper Note - 500 Cubits 1000 Paper Note - 1000 Cubits
For simplicity sake we will equate the value of a cubit to that of a Euro due to the few similarities already existing. For those unfamiliar, $1 USD is approximately 0.75 Euro and thus 1 Euro is about $1.33 USD.
