Picture time. I cut it down to about 30 lest you all get overload and hate me. There was a lot of churches so I spared you the repetitive interiors and pictures of various rocks where such and such happened. I tried to keep it to the most important and interesting stuff (as well as pictures worth looking at... sorry, no boob gifs). Rather than edit sizes for the boards I just made them links. Sorry for the inconvenience.
LinkThe Parthenon in Athens. There I am, not black. Sorry.
LinkStatutes on the medium sized temple to Athena on the Acropolis.
LinkIt took the Greeks 16 years to build the Acropolis back around 800BC. Apparently it takes a bit longer for them to build anything now a days.
LinkSign the Greeks put up and refuse to take down that is supposedly just dumping on the Germans for the Nazi occupation during WWII.
LinkShot of the Acropolis from by the old Agora.
LinkView down from the Acropolis on the Theater of Dionysus where all those Greek tragedies and comedies were originally performed.
LinkView from the Parthenon. Roman Temple in the foreground with the Olympic Stadium in the background.
LinkView out the window from the cave where St. John received his vision from Jesus and wrote the Book of Revelations. Funny enough we didn't get a picture in the other direction of the cave itself.
LinkThe ancient city of Ephesus in Turkey.
LinkWhere ancient Romans in Ephesus went OTP.
LinkExcavations still underway of the city.
LinkThat's me siting at the top of the Theater in Ephesus.
LinkThere's the full theater for scale.
LinkWhat's left of the Great Library at Ephesus.
LinkThe last remaining column of the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, a Wonder of the World.
LinkOur ship at Santorini, sitting in the massive caldera of one of the most powerful volcanoes in the world.
LinkView from the Mountain of the Beatitudes, better known for the multiplication of the loaves and fishes. This shot is looking down from the mountain toward the Sea of Galilee. Across the water are the Golan Heights.
LinkThe Old City of Jerusalem from the Mountain of Olives. That's the Dome of the Rock built upon the Temple of Solomon built upon the "Holy of Holies".
LinkAncient olive tree on the Mountain of Olives in the Garden of Gethsemane. For those not following, it's where Jesus went after the Last Supper to pray and where he was arrested by the Romans.
LinkThe Wailing Wall, the closest non-muslims are allowed to get to the Dome of the Rock/Temple of Solomon Ruins and the Holy of Holies.
LinkHoly Sepulchre built on Calvary Hill were Jesus was crucified.
LinkChurch of the Nativity. Yes, we are walking down underground. Apparently mangers in Israel are really caves, not open wooden stables.
LinkExcavations of old Nazareth to the time period of when Jesus lived there.
LinkCrossing the border between Israel and Palestine.
LinkBest picture of the trip. The faded sign at the top is located right by the Church of the Holy Family in Bethlehem. Not the most tolerant people live in that neighborhood.
LinkScenic view of Corfu, Greece.
LinkFortress town of Dubrovnik in Croatia.
LinkLeaning towers of Bologna. Pisa can go frak off.
LinkView from Murano, Venice, where they do all the glass blowing.
LinkCanal next to where we ate dinner.
