Personality: A sarcastic joker with a penchant for stating the obvious in a mocking light, TK has the qualities of a wise-ass, yet with her glowing skills it has managed to keep her in her career. Fixing things isn't a passion or a love to her, it's what she does-- and assumes what she does the best. A little bit of an ego? She will go terribly quiet if she fails at something, and will not speak until she's either fixed it or moved on. Prone to finding quiet little places to hide and "think" when this happens. She also becomes annoyed when her music is interrupted, more times than not she will have her own personal device for listening to a myriad of tunes. From operas to whatever passes for "rock" music these days.
Likes: Has a real love of music; any and all genres. Being left alone to do her work; enjoys the quiet monotony of it. Fresh fruit. Everything being in it's place; complete messes of wires and faulty machinery bother and stress her out.
Dislikes: Chaos in her work environment. Interruptions; mostly in the middle of a song. Being proved wrong, and failing miserably at a task.
Fears: Being trapped and knowing there's no way out.
Aspirations: To keep her new job on the Hyperion. Always be improving her engineering skills.
Equipment: Tools, personal music device of some shape or form, utility belt for some of said tools, a necklace made of little scrap parts.
Anything Else?: Nope!
History:
It was almost by inconvenience that Andromeda and Anton had a baby girl. It was obvious they weren't of the warm and family-orientated kind of folks. They were both in business together, and that business was their passion. Not a lot else appeared to matter. So when Tessare came along, it was obvious they didn't really have the time to raise a child. An attempt was made at first, at least until Tess was around seven, and then it was just too much. So little TK was passed over to her uncle Menelaus, and his wife. They'd been unsuccessful in having children of their own, and took in the child without question. As she grew older, she could tell they held resentment towards her parents-- and whaddya know? So did TK. It's more out of courtesy whenever she contacts them, or visits, but she was very much estranged from them. She stuck to her uncle like glue. Followed him around as he was doing work around the house-- the man was the tops at fixing things. He loved the tinker with new devices, take some apart to see how they worked. And then TK started to take an interest. Only... sometimes she took the wrong things apart-- couldn't really put those back together again... Menelaus worked up in the Scorpia Shipyards. When she hit thirteen, and from then upwards, he'd take her to work with him. Show her around. Show her how amazing things were from orbit.
It wasn't so much the beauty of Space that captured her. TK was a hard kid to really impress. She didn't have a romantic view of anything. It was the challenge that got her-- hook, line and sinker. That quality she defines to the end she did not get from her parents-- a competitive nature and desire to be the very best. Maybe in her youth it had been her trying to grab their attention, but now it was more for her. She wanted to surpass them and make her own success. And that's what she did.
Tessare followed in her uncle's footsteps-- and was a little proud to, as well. She trained, tested, and proved her way to the top of classes. There was disappointment when she wasn't 'the best', however, Menelaus had taught her a few things. That she didn't have to be the best, and to learn from her experiences and mistakes. It still stung at times when she failed, but she kept going. After a long sulk, of course.
And now her ultimate goal has been achieved. She wanted on the biggest, newest ship in the Fleet, and finally got accepted onto the Hyperion. There is rumour that the Stross's stepped in to grease a few palms, but TK will refuse to acknowledge those allegations. She made it there herself.
