Old returning members and new alike, welcome to Battlestar Hyperion! It has been a few months since this has been a truly active site since Sidney's departure as our lead Admin, butI have decided to take up the reigns and drive the RP of this site in his stead Sidney has now also returned to help with getting this site back on its feet. The other admins are also still here to run the site, especially the behind the scenes action that is so very important.
Restarting a site is no small task so keep in mind that many parts of the forums might be out-of-date (and we're working on that). I would like all returning RPers to post in this thread with the names of all characters they are reviving. (New members need only post in the applications to create a character.) All old characters that are not reactivated will be listed as seriously injured and removed from the RP.
To explain the massive injuries/deaths and to get back to a place where we can RP again, I have written two threads to create a site-wide plot to kick off our rebirth. They can be found here and here.
It might be a little difficult to jump into this for some people so please feel free to PM me or post here with questions as well.
Since our break in activity:
1) The Hyperion has fought a serious battle which has led to the injury and death of many critical personnel.
2) The fleet has picked up the Gunstar Hephaestus along with its commander, Admiral Castle.
3) Castle has shaken the fleet up a bit (as detailed in the threads posted above).
4) We are currently in the midst of a mutiny. Old Hyperion characters are most likely to side with the mutiny. New characters that are RPed as coming from the Gunstar are likely to support the Admiral. You can of course side with the opposite camp if you so decide.

Alright the mutiny is going to be broken down into groups to RP together. So if you want in on the RP then you need to join one of the groups once the threads get going.
Pilots
Pilots are typically the center of attention in combat but not this time. That doesn't mean they're not getting used. They will be scrambled and there will be some action for them but not a while lot.
Pilots can either launch from the Gunstar OR they can join the marines, take a Viper from inside Hyperion, and launch with it (+1 for the Gunstar's Viper Wing). The other option is to just grab a gun and fight on foot but as mentioned above, we do need pilots (and we'd need them RP-wise even if there was no impending threat from the GM).
Of course launching Vipers means deck crews helping out so there is so action to be had there. Deck personnel can also of course later pick up a gun and get into the fighting themselves.
Marines and such
This is the main action. The Gunstar is going to board Hyperion and there is going to be a lot of gun play. We're going to split into three RP groups once we're in. Group 1 holds the breach at the deck. They basically get behind cover and shoot people the entire time. Group 2 goes in a sort of sneaky fashion to save the President (and other plottage). Group 3 goes to retake the CIC and control of the ship.
CIC Types
There is going to be VERY LITTLE RP here with the CIC, even more-so than normal. We might have a plot ending scene in the Gunstar CIC but that's about it. If you are a CIC officer and want to get in on the action then I suggest you pick up a gun and join the above group.
Still on the Hyperion
Anyone who is not part of the Fun Star (Gunstar) teams is probably going to be still on the Hyperion. You can try to drop into the boarding action threads (friendly or not) at your own discretion. Or you could sit the RP out while hiding in your bunk or something.
